The Stars Come Out on Sesame Street 1979

2. Nasty Dan -- Johnny Cash with Oscar The Grouch

9. Five Feet High And Rising -- Johnny Cash with Biff
10. A World Without Music -- Jose Feliciano with the Sesame Street Kids
11. I Make Up Songs -- Helen Reddy

Yesterday, today and tomorrow. Whether they bring pleasure or sorrow.
Time is something no one can borrow. Yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Yesterday is gone. It's all "Remember when?" Yesterday is passed. It never comes again
Yesterday was bright or yesterday was gray; but all I know is how I feel today.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow. Whether they bring pleasure or sorrow.
Time is something no one can borrow. Yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Tomorrow never comes. It's always on the way. For yesterday's tomorrow has become today.
We miss what's very close by looking off so far. We all can learn. Today is where we are.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow. Whether they bring pleasure or sorrow.
Time is something no one can borrow. Yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Today is all there is. Today is not too late. Today's the only day we have to celebrate.
For yesterday is gone. Tomorrow's far away. And everyone is living in today.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow. Whether they bring pleasure or sorrow.
Time is something no one can borrow. Yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Secret Agent File - 1984

This 1984 rerelease of a 1960's compilation w/ Billy Strange, Neil Norman, Les Baxter, and Hall Daniels makes me appreciate how many times the world has been saved at the beach.

Alas, the reviews were not as good south of here. To quote this poor misled reviewer - "I was all ready to enjoy these 'blasts from the past.' Then they arrived, and what a let down! Only one of these cuts is an original, and that's 'Reilly, Ace of Spies' -- probably not what you bought the disc for. The others are covers, and don't sound like the unmistakable originals. So, be fore-warned. If you are looking for 'interpretations,' then go ahead. But if you are looking to purchase the real thing, you will need to go elsewhere."

Some classes can't be taught. Some lessons can't be learned.

1. Octopussy performed by Neil Norman and orchestra - arranged by Billy Strange, Les Baxter, Hall Daniels and Neil Norman - produced by Charles Faris and Neil Norman

Gloria Lynne - Gloria Lynne - 197x Up Front 146

Four love songs + four makin' love songs & one fun to do bad things song = nine sultry slices of soul

1. How Did You Make Me Love You
2. Can You Take What I'm Gonna Do
3. If You Don't Get It Yourself
4. I've Just Gotta Tell Somebody
5. Love Finally Found Me
6. Seems Like I Gotta Do Wrong
7. Don't Tell Me How to Love You
8. I'm So in Love
9. I'll Take You All the Way There

Another day has come and gone in a world where I don't belong.
Another week has passed me by. It's not because I didn't try.
Nobody saw me walking and nobody heard me talking.
Seems like I gotta do wrong, gotta do wrong, gotta do wrong before they notice me.
Another job that I can't get. Nice apartment that the landlord won't rent.
I go to bed but sleep won't come. My belly's empty and my brain is numb.
Nobody saw me walking. Nobody heard me talking.
Seems like I gotta do wrong, gotta do wrong, gotta do wrong before they notice me.
The Whispers

He ended up on the block with kid scooters and ice cream but ended out of foster homes until he was 19.
Stealing for food he didn't do for enjoyment at the time a lay off, shut down & unemployment.
He moved into a new world & seeked his fortune & suited himself to the times with extortions.
A hustle that was ruled by men and murder; he earned enough for his daily bread & wanted to move further.
He knew no good could come from such a sin, had issues as a kid, so he held it all but did.
And he pursued the game so hotly, on a path of destruction even though the road was rocky.
Very caught up in his own drive for dominance & to know that he would pay in the end was common sense.
Some say he had long deserved death & many felt relieved when they were told he left.
Path of Destruction - GZA

February 2010 Forays

Trying something different this month - look for some scheduled posts through the 16th but not much after that until March. I started slow last Record Store Day but recently picked up the pace on my crate-digging. There's just still too much vinyl out there that needs to be rescued from oblivion. I've ripped some of it, but no, I'm not cleaning the rips any further. DIY. If you want too see cleaner rips there's a whole host of links to your right. I also won't be scanning any LP covers - this blog is for your education not mine. While I'm away honing my skills for the 2010 Texas Pinball Festival I lined up some rare & cheap finds to bust out for all. If I don't make it back from the NBA All-Star Game just keep providin' music for the masses fellow blog-travelers. Peace.
