Don't be fooled by the cover. It may not be a shit jazz cover, but it is certainly one of the worst I've seen in awhile. I prefer the second half over the first. Track 6 has that Barry White bassline that's been used countless times since '89; and the guest contributions include Bootsy (natch), N'Dea Davenport (one of her first!), Jeff Beck and Dave Stewart. The release brings back some memories of those who thought hip-hop needed more house music. It didn't really work out that way, now did it?

I can't speak for Texans, but here in Philly, where both House AND Hip-Hop were bothe HUGE in the late 80's and early 90's, no one in the rap community felt that hip-hop needed more house music. It was more like, "we can reach the masses with this commercial stuff".
When Philly radio dropped the "no rap workday", and at the same time labeled "house" as gay music because of RuPaul and all the voguing that took over the club scene, the rap community jumped off that bandwagon.
